Decorative Concrete
While most people choose to have colored concrete poured when choosing a stamp finish, it can also be done with standard gray concrete. Borowicz Construction recommends stamped concrete for patios, walkways, and some porches. Driveways can also be stamped, it looks amazing, and is done often. It is important to recognize, however, that when concrete is stamped, it tends to be much more slippery when wet. So please take that into consideration when deciding on whether or not to stamp your newly pour concrete.
Stained Concrete
Stained concrete appeals to many people who want to achieve unique decorative effects for a reasonable cost. Concrete stain does more than simply add color. Rather than produce a solid, opaque effect like paint or colored coatings, stains permeate the concrete to infuse it with rich, deep, translucent tones. Even when treated with the same staining product in the same shade, no two concrete floors, walls, or countertops will look alike due to factors such as the composition and age of the concrete and surface porosity. Acid stained concrete gives new life to old concrete. Staining your old concrete can give it a beautiful and refreshing marble or granite look.
Stamped Concrete
Stamped Concrete is the process of applying a texture on the surface of newly poured concrete for design purpose. Once the concrete’s surface is ready, a “stamp” is physically applied to the surface of the concrete which leaves an impression on top. This is a beautiful and decorative way to customize your newly poured concrete. There are numerous choices in stamps that replicate stones such as slate, flagstone, tile, brick and even wood. Stamped concrete is the perfect outdoor paving choice for pool decks, driveways, courtyards, patios, and anything in between.
